Patna (Bihar) [India], April 17 (ANI): Union Minister Nityanand Rai on Thursday slammed the upcoming meeting of the INDIA alliance in Patna, describing it as a meeting of what he called the “Ghamandia” alliance.
He claimed that there is internal conflict between Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and that Tejashwi Yadav was engaged in corrupt dynasty-based politics. He also criticised Congress for promoting Kanhaiya Kumar, referring to him as a leader of what he termed the “Bharat Tere Tukde Honge” group.
“It is the meeting of the ‘Ghamandia’ alliance. There is a clash between Tejashwi Yadav and Congress. Tejashwi Yadav is leading an extremely corrupt dynasty in politics. Kanhaiya Kumar, promoted by the Congress, is the leader of the ‘Bharat Tere Tukde honge’ gang,” Rai said.
He stated that the current political situation reflects a power struggle between the Congress and the RJD and further said that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has been accepted by the people of Bihar and added that Nitish Kumar will continue as Chief Minister if the NDA returns to power.
“The people of Bihar know both of them thoroughly. There is a fight between Congress and the RJD for power. When the people have accepted the NDA, Nitish Kumar will be the CM again. There is no confusion in it,” Rai added.
Earlier on Wednesday, the RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav stated that another meeting with the INDIA alliance partners will be held in Patna today.
This came following their meeting with the RJD and the Congress in the national capital on Tuesday. Tejashwi Yadav met Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi, and Congress MP KC Venugopal. RJD’s Manoj Jha and Sanjay Yadav were also present at the meeting.
A high-stakes battle is expected to take place in Bihar, with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), consisting of Janata Dal (United) led by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and the Bharatiya Janata Party, fighting against the Mahagathbandhan, consisting of Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and left parties. The Bihar Assembly elections are due to be held later this year. (ANI)
